Abstract

How much do coaches and physical education teachers at the grassroots level in India know about the environment? These people are important because they can help spread awareness about environmental care. This study looks at their knowledge, beliefs, and actions regarding environmental issues, eco-friendly sports, and teaching methods that care for the environment. We used both qualitative and quantitative methods, talking to 150 people from five Indian states. The results show they have some knowledge, but it varies depending on where they work. The study suggests that adding environmental education to teacher training and coaching programs can help create more environmentally friendly sports professionals.
