Abstract

This research paper explores the pedagogical and conceptual aspects of teaching Trigonometry at the higher secondary level (Grades 11 and 12). Trigonometry, being one of the foundational components of advanced mathematics, plays a crucial role in developing spatial understanding, analytical thinking, and application-based learning in students. The study investigates the challenges students face in grasping core concepts such as trigonometric identities, unit circle interpretation, graphing functions, and solving real-life problems involving angles and measurements. It also reviews effective teaching methodologies, including the use of dynamic geometry software, visual aids, and inquiry-based learning strategies. The research concludes by highlighting the importance of contextual learning and continuous assessment to strengthen students' conceptual clarity and interest in mathematics.
