Abstract

Timely emergency medical service (EMS) response is critical to reducing mortality in trauma, cardiac arrest, and stroke cases. In Forsyth County, Georgia (ZIP code 30040), trailer park communities experience significantly longer EMS response times—averaging five minutes more—compared to surrounding suburban neighborhoods. This study investigates the infrastructural and systemic causes of this disparity using a mixed-methods approach, including GIS mapping, simulated response time data, and qualitative interviews. Results indicate that poor road signage, non-standard addresses, and limited EMS mapping integration contribute to delays. By identifying and addressing these barriers, we propose targeted interventions that could improve EMS equity and save lives in underserved communities.
