Software has developed from strictly tools to essential elements of everyday life. Nonetheless, a notable disparity still exists: the majority of software is unable to identify, understand, and react to human emotions, which results in annoying, impersonal, and frequently ineffective user experiences. A thorough framework for the design and development of human-centric software (HCS) and emotionally intelligent (EI) software is presented in this study. We start by outlining the fundamental components of Emotional Intelligence (EI) software: Context-Awareness, Adaptive Response, and Affective Computing (emotion recognition through text, voice, and visual analysis). We contend that genuine human-centricity can only be attained by integrating empathy throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from design thinking and user research to ethical implementation and ongoing feedback. This essay discusses the important ethical issues and privacy requirements while examining the technology enablers, such as developments in AI and machine learning. Lastly, we offer a useful assessment matrix for determining software systems' emotional intelligence. According to the conclusion, overcoming the emotional divide and developing technology that comprehends not just what we do but also who we are will be the next big thing in software innovation.
