Integrating payment gateways is a vital part of creating modern digital platforms. However, major payment service providers like Razorpay, Stripe, and PayPal have recently tightened their access controls for test environments. These new regulations now require verified business registrations, hosted websites, and valid credit card information. This can pose significant challenges for students, freelancers, and early-stage developers who want to learn, prototype, or create without needing a formal business setup. That's where EthicalPay V2 comes in—a developer- friendly, simulated payment gateway designed to address this problem. It offers a fully offline, self-hosted, and testable environment that doesn’t rely on third-party verification. EthicalPay V2 mimics the core functions of real payment systems and is loaded with innovative features like Anti Behavioral Smart Logic (ABSL) to anticipate failures, real-time QR-based payments, a mini ledger for tracking transactions, and STRaD, a stepwise transaction recorder and debugger that logs each phase of the payment cycle for diagnostics. This paper dives into the design, structure, and implementation of EthicalPay V2. It examines its use cases and highlights its advantages over traditional sandbox environments, showcasing its practical value for education, experimentation, and small-scale development needs.
