The Automation Hostel Visitor Facial Recognition System aims to overcome these limitations by integrating facial recognition technology with an automated visitor management process. This system utilizes image processing and machine learning algorithms to identify and authenticate visitors in real time. Upon arrival, the visitor’s face is captured through a camera and compared against the existing database to verify identity. If the visitor is recognized, entry is granted and recorded automatically; otherwise, the system alerts the hostel authorities for further verification.
By automating the entire visitor management workflow, the proposed system enhances security, efficiency, and transparency within hostel premises. It minimizes human intervention, reduces paperwork, and ensures accurate visitor logs that can be easily accessed for monitoring and audit purposes. Moreover, the adoption of facial recognition ensures a contactless and hygienic verification process, which is especially relevant in the post-pandemic era.
This paper discusses the design, development, and implementation of the proposed system, highlighting its architecture, functional modules, and performance evaluation in real-world scenarios.
