The Recent advancements in manufacturing processes and automation have given rise to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, known as Industry 4.0. It encompasses a wide range of domains including data management, manufacturing competitiveness, production efficiency, and sustainability. Key enabling technologies such as CyberPhysical Systems (CPS), the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data Analytics, and Digital l Twins are driving the transformation toward smart, automated, and connected manufacturing systems. Sustainability, highlighted in the United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda, has become a central objective of modern industry, focusing on smart manufacturing, energy-efficient systems, and environmentally friendly industrialization. Industry 4.0 technologies play a crucial role in achieving these sustainability goals by optimizing resource utilization and improving production performance. This paper presents a systematic review of current research progress and future potential of Industry 4.0 technologies in promoting manufacturing sustainability. It also explores the evolution of additive and hybrid manufacturing processes, emphasizing the integration of additive manufacturing with traditional forming techniques to enhance productivity, surface quality, and dimensional precision. Additionally, the study discusses advancements in casting processes and energysaving methods, such as the Constrained Rapid Induction Melting Single Shot Up-Casting process, supported by lean manufacturing principles. Developments in both conventional and non-conventional processes including high-speed machining, beam, mechanical, and chemical techniques are also reviewed. Overall, this paper provides an in-depth overview of modern manufacturing processes, highlighting how Industry 4.0 and sustainable technologies are shaping the future of industrial production and global competitiveness .
