Abstract

The increasing demand for efficient and sustainable maritime operations has led to innovations in digital port management technologies. Harbours are critical nodes in global trade, requiring effective coordination of ships, berths, cargo, staff, and billing systems. This paper presents the design and development of a Harbour Management System built using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js) to automate and streamline port operations. The system integrates multiple modules such as ship scheduling, berth allocation, cargo handling, staff management, and billing into a unified digital platform. Real-time data management and an intuitive user interface enhance operational transparency and reduce manual errors. The backend ensures secure data flow and scalability, while the frontend provides an interactive environment for harbour administrators. The proposed system aims to improve efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making in harbour operations, contributing to smarter and more sustainable maritime management.
