How to Publish a Research Paper Quickly
Most delays in publishing are caused by returns, rejections and slow replies, not by the review itself. You cannot control a reviewer’s schedule, but you can control almost everything else. These eight habits help you move from submission to publication as efficiently as the process allows.
Eight habits that save time
- Match scope first. Read the aims and scope and a few recent papers before you submit.
- Write in the official template from the start, so you do not reformat at the end.
- Get your guide or co-authors to approve the draft before submission, not after.
- Proofread language, units and references; a clean paper is reviewed faster.
- Prepare every file the journal asks for, including the copyright form.
- Submit once, completely, rather than uploading corrected versions.
- Reply to editor and reviewer emails the same day if you can.
- Finish the post-acceptance steps, such as payment and final files, at once.
Where time is usually lost
| Cause | How to prevent it |
|---|---|
| Out of scope, so returned or rejected | Check scope and recent issues first |
| Wrong format, so sent back | Use the template and guidelines |
| Missing author details or forms | Prepare them before submitting |
| Similarity or originality concerns | Rewrite in your own words and cite sources |
| Slow response to revision requests | Set aside time for revisions, and respond promptly |
| Late payment or missing final files | Complete post-acceptance steps immediately |
Respond well to reviewer comments
Answer every point, even those you disagree with, and say what you changed and where. A short, polite response letter helps editors see quickly that the paper is ready. A vague reply or a partial revision usually causes another round, which costs more time than it saves.
Do not buy speed with risk
Be wary of any service that promises guaranteed acceptance or publication in a fixed number of hours, or that asks for money before a decision. A paper that skips review can damage your record, and your name stays attached to it.
Read the journal’s plagiarism policy and ethics statement so that your paper does not get held up for avoidable reasons.
Next steps
Submit your paper online and keep the paper ID. Use Check Paper Status to follow its progress. Fees are per accepted article, from ₹499 for Indian authors without DOI, and are paid after acceptance; see the charges page.
Frequently asked questions
What is the biggest cause of delay?
Usually avoidable issues: papers out of scope, wrong format, missing forms and slow replies to editors.
Can I submit and then fix the formatting?
It is better to submit a complete, correctly formatted paper once. Repeated uploads add confusion and time.
Is it safe to pay for guaranteed fast publication?
Be careful. Guarantees of speed or acceptance are a warning sign. Pay only according to the journal’s official instructions after acceptance.
How do I check where my paper is in the process?
Use the Check Paper Status page on the IJSCI website with your paper ID.
