Journal Publication Fees Under ₹1000: A Budget Guide
Many students and early researchers set a firm budget before they choose where to publish. A limit such as ₹1000 is realistic, but only if you know what the fee includes and what could add to it. This guide helps you plan within a small budget without surprises.
IJSCI’s options against a ₹1000 budget
| Author and option | Fee | DOI |
|---|---|---|
| Indian authors, without DOI | ₹499 | Not included |
| Indian authors, with DOI | ₹699 | Included |
| International authors | $20 USD | Included |
Both Indian-author options are below ₹1000. The international fee is quoted in US dollars, so the rupee equivalent changes with the exchange rate.
What the budget does not automatically cover
- Language editing or proofreading by a service.
- Permissions for figures, tables or data taken from other sources.
- Payment or transfer charges from your bank.
- Printing, certificates or hard copies, unless the journal states them as included.
- Any separate service you request.
Ask the journal which of these it offers and what each costs. Do not assume an extra is included.
How to plan the budget
- Decide whether you need a DOI. This is the main difference between the two Indian-author options.
- Add any costs outside the journal, such as proofreading.
- Confirm that you will pay after acceptance and keep the money ready.
- Keep a small margin for bank or payment charges.
- Save the receipt and transaction reference after payment.
Before you pay
Make sure the request matches IJSCI’s official payment instructions for your accepted paper. Read the cancellation and refund policy first. If you are asked for a different amount, or asked to pay before acceptance, email editor@ijsci.com with your paper ID before sending any money.
Do not choose on price alone
A budget should narrow your list, not replace checking. Read about how to tell a low cost journal from a questionable one, and confirm that the journal’s scope fits your paper. Then submit online.
